About ElectraLens
An open, checkable look at electoral-roll revisions
ElectraLens is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the Election Commission of India.
Why it exists
Rolls are revised constantly. Large changes are often routine, sometimes errors, and occasionally something worth asking about. ElectraLens makes those changes visible with a method anyone can read, run and check.
Principles
Open method
Rules, thresholds and code are public and versioned. Every finding links to the exact version used.
Explanations first
Every finding carries its innocent explanations and limits, as prominently as its evidence.
Two people, every time
Nothing is published unless two different people, neither of them the analyst, approve the exact manifest.
Verifiable
Publications are anchored on a public blockchain and in Bitcoin through OpenTimestamps.
Privacy by design
Only aggregates are public. There is no search by person, and small counts are hidden.
Synthetic
About the demonstration data
Everything shown in this demonstration is synthetic: real state and district names give context, but every constituency, part, polling station and person is fictional, and constituencies are numbered from 901 so they cannot be mistaken for real ones.
